On September 6, all YMCA Health, Fitness and Recreation Centres will open at 8 a.m. and close at 4 p.m. and the following programming schedule will be in effect:
Whether you're at the beach or in a backyard pool, accidents can happen in the blink of an eye. Keep your family happy and healthy by making safety a priority this summer.
Learn to swim. If you or your child are non-swimmers, register today for YMCA swim lessons.
Always ensure that children in or near water are closely supervised by an adult – preferably a certified lifeguard.
Build a fence around all pools with a self-closing and self-latching gate.
Empty wading pools when not in use.
Ensure that all children and adults wear life jackets in any kind of watercraft.
Be aware of the dangers of fast-moving water and riptides.
Never dive into a pool or body of water without first testing the depth.
YMCA Health, Fitness and Recreation Centre pools are monitored by certified lifeguards at all times. You can depend on the YMCA for superior water safety for you and your family.
