Settlement and Newcomer Services Portal

A new way to find the help you need to settle in Toronto!

Working closely in partnership, Community Information Toronto, the YMCA of Greater Toronto Newcomer Information Centre and the Ontario Council of Agencies Serving Immigrants bring you the Settlement and Newcomer Services Portal.

What is this portal?
The Settlement and Newcomer Services Portal allows you to quickly find the services that meet your needs as a newcomer to the city of Toronto.

How can I access this portal?
You can access this portal on the web, in person or over the phone.Using the 211Toronto.ca and Settlement.Org web sites, you can click on "featured searches" to find information about employment, community, social, health and government services that can help you in Toronto.

You can also visit the YMCA Newcomer Information Centre (NIC) in person to receive assistance from staff speaking over 20 different languages. NIC offers extended hours of service and no appointment is necessary.

The YMCA Newcomer Information Centre is open:
Monday to Thursday 9am - 8pm
Friday 9am - 2pm
Saturday 10am - 2pm

Outside of these hours, you can dial 211 on your phone (in Toronto) to get help, 24 hours a day.

Who are the portal partners?

The 211Toronto.ca web site is a project of Community Information Toronto. 211Toronto.ca has information about nonprofit, community-based or government organizations that provide a direct service to the public.
The Settlement.Org web site is a project of the Ontario Council of Agencies Serving Immigrants (OCASI). It helps immigrants and refugees find the information they need to start a new life in Ontario, Canada. Settlement.Org has articles, guides, and links to useful web sites and community organizations that serve newcomers.
The YMCA Newcomer Information Centre (NIC) is an information and referral service for newcomers to Canada and home to a settlement resource library and computer lab. NIC offers extended hours of service and no appointment is necessary. Click here to find out more about events at NIC.
